Actors reveal their winter fitness routines!

As temperatures drop and the chill sets in, the temptation to stay cozy and skip workouts grows. However, winter is an ideal time to focus on building strength, boosting immunity, and supporting overall well-being. &TV artists including Neha Joshi (Krishna Devi Vajpayee, Atal), Smita Sable (Dhaniya, Bheema), Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabhi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) share their fitness routines to stay active, energized, and healthy throughout the colder months. Neha Joshi, also known as Krishna Devi Vajpayee from Atal, says, “My mornings begin with a 15-minute warm-up routine that includes stretching exercises like forward bends, spinal twists, and hamstring stretches. These help improve blood circulation, keep my muscles flexible, and prevent stiffness. I rely on indoor workouts like yoga and Pilates to stay warm and strengthen my core. Yoga also helps me manage stress. To boost my immunity, I make it a habit to drink a glass of warm turmeric milk before bed. It’s great for my skin and helps me sleep better. My meals are packed with seasonal vegetables like spinach, carrots, and beets, which are rich in essential vitamins and minerals. Staying hydrated is important, especially in winter when we drink less water, so I drink herbal teas like chamomile or peppermint, along with warm water infused with lemon and honey throughout the day.” Smita Sable, known as Dhaniya from Bheema, shares, “Winter often makes us want to stay cozy indoors and skip workouts, but consistency is key to staying fit. I follow a simple, home-based strength training routine. Resistance bands and bodyweight exercises like push-ups, squats, and lunges help me maintain muscle tone and flexibility. These exercises are easy to do at home with minimal equipment, making them perfect for cold days. To complement my routine, I take brisk morning walks to soak in some sunlight, which lifts my mood and keeps my vitamin D levels healthy.”

Geetanjali Mishra, who plays Rajesh in Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “Winter can leave you feeling sluggish, but I fight that with a simple and effective fitness routine. I incorporate indoor cardio exercises like skipping, jumping jacks, and burpees to raise my heart rate and keep my metabolism active. These exercises are quick and energizing, so they’re easy to fit into a busy schedule. To enjoy the season, I go on nature walks or short hikes once a week. Being outdoors in the fresh air rejuvenates me and helps me stay connected to nature. Nutrition is important too- my winter diet includes dry fruits like almonds, walnuts, and dates, which provide the energy I need to stay active. A warm cup of ginger and lemon tea is my go-to immunity booster. It helps detoxify my body and keeps seasonal illnesses like cold and flu away.” Shubhangi Atre, also known as Angoori Bhabhi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, adds, “Winter is about finding balance—staying active while nourishing your body from within. I start my day with yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises) to keep my body flexible and my mind calm. Pranayama enhances my lung capacity and ensures better oxygen flow, which is especially important during winter when we tend to spend more time indoors. After yoga, I dedicate 20 minutes to light cardio or brisk walking to improve circulation and keep my metabolism in check. For mental well-being, I practice mindfulness and meditation daily, which helps me stay focused and stress-free despite my hectic schedule. My winter diet includes soups, stews, and warm dishes, and I avoid processed foods. To nourish my skin and prevent dryness, I drink plenty of water and warm herbal teas. Winter can be tough, but with the right approach, it’s an opportunity to enhance both physical and mental health.”

SATYA Shakti Foundation organized free health camps for people of Gujarat SATYA Shakti Foundation in association with SATYA MicroCapital Ltd. undertook a major initiative of organizing Free Mega Health Check-Up Drive with the noble purpose of creating public awareness for preventive healthcare and enabling a healthy society for people of Gujarat. Under this Mega Health Check-Up Drive, Health Camps were organized in Four villages located in the state of Gujarat. This initiative served around 400 people living in and around the villages of Nenpur, Choila, Umalla & Sukhsar and facilitated people with medical supervision from Certified Doctors. It also encouraged the beneficiaries to take care of their health and implement necessary lifestyle changes in accordance to prevailing pandemic conditions to live healthier lives. The day-long Health Check-Up camps were organized in the premises of nearby Temples and Panchayat Bhawan in respective areas under the guidance of doctors. People availed free health facilities entailing consultation from MBBS doctors for issues ranging from women health and child health to diet & nutrition, availing generic medicines, vitals check like hypertension test, blood pressure test etc. as well as counselling, during the health camp. Sharing humble thoughts on initiative, Shikha Sharma, Director & CEO, SATYA Shakti Foundation stated, “The health camp is one of the best ways of assisting people who require health attention, and we feel privileged to be able to conduct these free health camps. Considering the large turnout of people, we hope to organize many more such health camps in the future to enhance the overall health of the citizens. Also, I am thankful to Mr. Vivek Tiwari, MD, CIO & CEO, SATYA MicroCapital for supporting us in this initiative. I feel awestruck when I realize that SATYA is making extra efforts in serving humanity by providing healthcare checkup services apart from facilitating micro loans to those living on the bottom of the pyramid. I am also grateful to all the Doctors and Medical Fraternity for making this happen”. A visibly very happy participant remarked, “Such free health camps should be organized frequently, so that rural people can avail the benefits of preventive healthcare. I appreciate the choice of organizers for selecting the place of worship as the site for this health camp. Attending a health camp at a place of worship has bestowed enormous faith among us for assessing best medical facilities at our doorstep free of cost. These camps have certainly motivated people to stay proactive about their health and make preventive health check-ups a part of their lifestyle”
