Celebrating the Furry Companions: Zee TV actors share their favourite pet stories on International Dog Day

International Dog Day, celebrated on August 26th each year, is a special day dedicated to honouring the bond between humans and their canine companions. This day recognizes the vital role dogs play in our lives, as loyal friends and as service animals, therapy animals, and working partners. Zee TV actors, including Aishwarya Khare from Bhagya Lakshmi, Krishna Kaul from Kumkum Bhagya, Adrija Roy from Kundali Bhagya, Arjit Taneja from Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye, Dheeraj Dhoopar from Rabb Se Hai Dua and Manit Joura from Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan reflected upon the joy and unconditional love their dogs bring into their lives. They also spoke about the significance of celebrating and caring for these beloved animals who contribute so much to our well-being and happiness.

Krishna Kaul, who essays the role of Ranbir in Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya said, “On this International Dog Day, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible joy and companionship my dog Flash brings into my life. Flash has a unique way of brightening even the toughest days, from his boundless energy to his unwavering loyalty. Every day, his playful antics and affectionate nature reminds me of the pure, unconditional love that dogs offer. Whenever I come back home from a hectic shoot, he cheers me up and is so happy seeing me. Also, when my friends come to visit me, he plays with them and makes their day as well. I am really grateful for the countless moments of laughter and comfort he provides, and I’m proud to honor not just Flash, but all the amazing dogs who enrich our lives in ways words can scarcely capture. Here’s to celebrating the wonderful bond we share with our furry friends!”

Aishwarya Khare who essays the role of Lakshmi in Zee TV’s Bhagya Lakshmi said, “I have been fond of dogs since I was a child, but my mother never really allowed me to have one. But I recently turned a pet mom to a beautiful Shih Tzu, Barfi. The time we brought him home in Mumbai, I was so excited to become a dog parent. Honestly, I believe it is a very big responsibility.  We are so attached to him and whenever I go back home from my shoot, he welcomes me and fills me up with joy. I never get tired of playing with him and I must say since the time we have got him, he has turned our world upside down in a very positive way. I feel dogs are the best stress busters anyone can ever get and there’s no love like a dog’s love”

Adrija Roy who essays the role of Palki in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya said, “Crunchy is my cute little furball—she’s a beloved member of our family. From the moment she became a part of our lives, she filled our home with joy and warmth, especially during those tough times when we needed it the most. Crunchy has this amazing ability to sense when I am feeling low and instantly lifts our spirits with her love and affection. It’s incredible how such a small creature can have such a huge impact on our lives. Her loyalty and the way she responds to even the smallest gestures show just how strong the bond between pets and humans can be. On International Dog Day, I want to take a moment to appreciate the invaluable gift that pets like Crunchy are to us. They bring so much love and happiness into our lives without asking for anything in return. Whether it’s adopting a pet or simply being kind to strays, let’s make a difference in their lives just how they make in ours.”

Arjit Taneja who essays the role of Virat in Zee TV’s Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye said, “Simba, is so much more than just a pet, and he is truly the sunshine of my life. His playful energy and endless excitement bring a smile to my face, no matter how tough things might be. Simba lives in Delhi with my family, and I miss him so much when I’m in Mumbai. Whenever I go back home, meeting him is always a moment of pure joy. Even though he’s small, the love he gives is enormous – unconditional and pure. Simba’s presence has taught me just how deep and meaningful the bond between a pet and a human can be. On International Dog Day, I want to remind everyone of the joy and companionship that pets like Simba bring into our lives. Let’s work together to make the world a better place for these innocent souls whether it’s adopting them, feeding them, or simply showing them some love, every little effort counts.”

Dheeraj Dhoopar who essays the role of Subhaan in Zee TV’s Rabb Se Hai Dua said, “On International Dog Day, I can’t help but celebrate my beloved Oreo, who has been the first child of our family and now proudly takes on the role of an elder brother to Zayn. Dogs hold a special place in my life, offering unconditional love and loyalty that words can hardly capture. With Oreo by my side, my love for dogs has only grown deeper. He’s brought endless joy, warmth, and laughter into our home. Watching him bond with Zayn is truly heartwarming, and I’m grateful every day for the love and happiness he brings to our family. It is like watching your two kids growing up together.”

Manit Joura who essays the role of Yug in Zee TV’s Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan said, “There’s something truly magical about the connection I share with dogs – they have a way of touching your soul like nothing else. My dog Bella, who is like a little teddy bear, has captured everyone’s heart. The moment Bella enters the room, all the attention naturally shifts to her, and I love pampering her with all the affection she deserves. Not only Bella, I have more than 6 rescue dogs and 3 puppies as well. These are all rescued babies who are very close to my heart. Other than that I’m associated with multiple dog shelters across India as I believe no dog should be denied of the love they deserve as they never stop loving us. Dogs bring such warmth, joy, and unconditional love into our lives, and I’m grateful for every moment I get to spend with them.”
